Save a Chair!

My kids must have had glue on their butts or the fake leather cover of this chair was just plastic, either way our computer chair in the living room looked sad. The sight of it annoyed me and I even considered throwing it out, but only for a second. On Monday's trip to Walmart, I mentioned in that I found two bolts of fabrics that I liked, well this is the second fabric, also $1.50 per yard.

Flipping the chair over, there were several screws that I removed to separate the chair into two pieces, with the front legs removed. Then I placed my fabric over the seat and cut out the seat shape a few inches larger than the actual size. Using a staple gun I just stapled the fabric to the underside of the cushion. The back was more tricky and I had to sew this portion since the chair back tapers and there was no way to just wrap and staple it. It required me making five pieces that I sewed together.

Here's the Chair I SAVED today, not perfect, but it will be able to keep living for a while longer. It also compliments the oranges and red tones of all the other things in my house. Now I have one more chair to save before the week is over. Won't you save a chair today?
